The London Riots

Most people know I love uprisings. I love the act of communities and entire countries coming together and rising up against Injustice. When I first heard about the incident in Tottenham, I was quite pleased to see a community come together voicing their concern over the death of Mark Duggan.  However as the night progreses it had become apparent that the death of Mark had become an "excuse" for selfish little children to steal all that they desired and to destroy their own neighborhood.

This was the moment that sealed the deal. Now I understand the during the past 3 days the Police have have a monumental task to deal with but had they controlled the situation in Tottenham as they should have, i am sure that London would not be in the state they were in. 

We have seen time and time again how the police is in fact capable of dealing with public disorder. As our Government has continued to fail us, the people have felt the need to protest more and more. The example that explains my frustration best is the first few demonstration against the rise in tuition fees. It may have taken some time but the Police were able to control things in the end.

I think it's time the police do what they are actually capable of and stop worrying about public opinion too much because it seems to me the Police is more concerned the media backlash they may receive for being "too" firm. What they don't understand is standing by and doing very little will only tarnish their reputation even more.

Now lets come of the Police and focus on the little greedy scumbags who found it acceptable to mimic the situation in Tottenham around the city. If you are reading this and you were in fact narrow minded and thick enough to partake in these mindless acts of violence and theft, then Motherfuck you ok.  

I mean really guys, are you that bored? Are your lives that empty? Are your parents that shitty?  Please explain to me what destroying peoples livelihoods in an already difficult economic time will achieve? (im sorry if that last comment was too complex for you simple people).

I just feel disgusted. The images of destruction, the videos of innocent people being mugged and beaten. Clips of the Police being beaten. It all saddens me. Then this morning even the arrival of our Prime Minister amounted to nothing with that weak speech. 

Despite all this what scares me the most is how senseless all this violence is. The fact that it's a riot with no motive. There seem to be no clear reasoning behind all this. It's just greed and a bit of fun. I hope we have seen the worst of it all.

Oh and Birmingham and any other City who saw what happened in London and decided to jump on the bandwagon of stupidity. Get a life. Grow up and just stop being so sad and pathetic. There is nothing glorious about the situation in London.
