Not very "democratic" is it? Usually people turn to the Middle East and point out how Women are oppressed by being forced to do what they do not wish, I really don't see how this is different? I always believed that the democracy were fighting to protect in all these wars would include the freedom to wear what ever the hell you want.
This decision by France also undermines the whole "war on terror by inflicting even more terror" because there out there fighting "extremists" and the "Taliban" ( the definition of Taliban seems to be any bearded man wearing a turban ) but all that "effort" will just go to waste because a law like this is like fucking ecstasy to those deluded bunch of sick people sitting somewhere in their caves willing to kill the innocent.
Yes people will counter act that argument and instead say "well why should be let extremists dictate our laws" well I say whats the point of putting your country under that threat for a purposeless law? One of the arguments for implementing this law is that the Viel restricts women from integrating with society. Out of 5 million muslims in france only around 20,000 wear the viel, does society really want to know these women that badly? So much so their willing to strip away their freedom to decide upon what to wear?
Just to make it clear, the veil is not compulsory in Islam. This anger and disgust is not a religious rage but rather an anger at the loss of freedom for a group of people. It all seems so pointless. It's all just demonising one religion. Laws like this make Muslims apear like their doing something wrong and then everyone is confused as to why so many Muslims are brainwashed into extremism.
I have totally lost any faith in democracy. That one entity we seem to fight for. That idea that so many have died for. The reason for war. Yet in some cases it forces you not to have the simple privilege to decide an outfit.
