Islamic nazis? no.

My God the general British public are rather clueless about what Islam really is.

Before you carry on, read this blog post on Sky news about a growth in the number of Muslims in Briton. Then read the comments.

It's insane. People genuinely believe that Muslims are some kind of group of barbaric Nazi like people who hate and wish death upon many other kinds of people. First I want to address this whole misconception that a Muslims can be racist. No.

Islam is a religion for all, regardless of your ethnic background or skin colour. Any hatred towards a kind of people by a "Muslim" is not an issue with religion but rather an issue with culture or the individual themselves. In fact if that person was more Islamic he or she would not have made any remarks deemed racist. I know personally how accepting Islam can be, both my Mother and adopted brother are White converts to Islam and have fitted right in. Both would probably argue the fact that Muslims seem to have more of a respect for someone who is new to Islam as supposed to someone who is born Muslim.

Look I know religion is not the best topic to blog about because people just dont care but in this situation I care. This is my religion and I know fully about the beauty of Islam and the sense of brotherhood that comes with it. I could go on and on about the misconceptions about Islam but I would rather talk about the solution.

The problem is people are quick to form opinions about Islam but with very little knowledge. Yet we are perceived as racist. To me a group of people who are not willing to learn about the beliefs of a group of people and do very little or nothing to find out about a religion but are very quick to pass hurtful judgments about them are both ignorant and racist. Why I say this is because their thoughts seem to come only from themselves as opposed to concrete evidence and information.

The easiest solution to this whole situation is simple. If both Muslims learn more about their religion and non-Muslims learn the simple aspects of Islam then we can all be beneficial. People who are usually afraid of Islam would understand there is nothing to fear and Muslims can benefit from being hated.

Simple.
